AIFF to VOC

Useful information about AIFF

Extension: AIFF
Name: Audio Interchange File Format
Mime Type: audio/aiff | audio/x-aiff
Converter: AIFF Converter
Description: Audio Interchange File Format (AIFF) is an audio file format standard used for storing sound data for personal computers and other electronic audio devices. The format was developed by Apple Inc. in 1988 based on Electronic Arts' Interchange File Format (IFF, widely used on Amiga systems) and is most commonly used on Apple Macintosh computer systems. The audio data in most AIFF files is uncompressed pulse-code modulation (PCM). This type of AIFF file uses much more disk space than lossy formats like MP3—about 10 MB for one minute of stereo audio at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz and a bit depth of 16 bits. There is also a compressed variant of AIFF known as AIFF-C or AIFC, with various defined compression codecs. - Source

Useful information about VOC

Extension: VOC
Name: Creative Voice file
Mime Type: audio/x-voc
Converter: VOC Converter
Description: Creative Voice, filename extension .voc, is an audio format for digital audio data developed in the 1990s Sound Blaster sound cards from Creative Technology. The file format consists of a 26-byte header and a series of subsequent data blocks containing the audio information. The byte order is little-endian. Creative Voice files were used in various DOS games when they could use sound blaster cards for audio output, such as Eye of the Beholder. The spread of the file format disappeared noticeably with the advent of RIFF WAVE, which was already supported in Windows. However, the Creative Voice file format required the installation of additional player programs included with the Sound Blaster Card drivers. With the advent of AC'97, WAVE, file extension .WAV, finally prevailed. - Source
